What wonderful weather to welcome back our Little Acorns!

We simply love this photo - the calmness, the colour of the leaves and the grass, the open space our children have access to and every child listening intently to what is going to happen in the story next….the perfect way to get back to it after half term!

We are delighted to once again be able to offer parents of Little Acorn children the opportunity to come to a paediatric first aid evening on Thursday 1st July at 7.30pm.

Today the wonderful Sarah Greer Photography came to photograph our children.  Despite one of the wettest May's ever the sun managed to come out for our Little Acorns.

​

Sarah is a wonderful local photographer who manages to capture such wonder in every photo.

Welcome back to all our children, old and new!

The sun has been kind to us and has been out allowing us to do lots of exploring outside!

We celebrated the end of the spring term with a fantastic bonnet parade and Easter party with all our children! Lots of fun was had by all and there was of course some chocolate from the Easter Bunny!

Today we got to meet 5 little piglets from Buckmoorend Farm! The children loved finding out all about them and asking their own questions - we all laughed lots when they wiggled and squeeled. A huge thank you to Farmer Dan and Steph. A fabulous way to end our week of ‘Spring’ learning.

We were so excited to get a special postcard delivered from Edinburgh Zoo.  As we had enjoyed watching the zoo cams so much our children created some pictures of the panda and penguins which we sent to the zoo.  They are now hanging up near the enclosures!

At Little Acorns Kindergarten we LOVE books! This week we have changed our role play area into a book den for the children to enjoy.  We have filled it with all our favourites as well as lots of new stories for us all to get to know.

This week at LAK we have been learning about all things animal! The children have played, explored, moved, and created their own animals.  We have really enjoyed watching the live feeds from Edinburgh Zoo, especially the penguins in the ice!

Their minds were not made to be sat and be taught.  They were built to explore, play and learn.

What a beautiful afternoon our Little Acorns had further developing their love, appreciation and respect for nature.  All right outside our doors.
